reçu la croix de guerre française pour avoir poursuivi le
combat même blessé.

Date of Action: November 8 - 9, 1918 Citation: The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Lloyd L. Ferguson, Sergeant, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Brandeville, France, November 8 - 9, 1918. After leading his platoon against a superior number of the enemy, Sergeant Ferguson was wounded and taken to an aid station, where he was ordered evacuated. He refused, and rejoined his company the following day, and was again wounded while advancing at the head of his platoon.
